Amenon, the Scribe of the Dead, was an aspect of Nuul who relished record-keeping, to the extent that he influenced the inhabitants of the material planes and cultivated followers with the aim of causing more deaths to be recorded. Unlike many evil-aligned deities, Amenon despised undeath, and his followers were strictly forbidden from practising resurrection, healing, and various forms of necromantic magic; though some exceptions were granted where such magic resulted in a net increase in deaths.
Appearance
Amenon manifested as a gaunt, skeletal figure, shrouded in tattered, purple-grey robes. He clutched a magpie-feather quill with which he recorded the names of the dead.
Followers
Followers of Amenon ranged from scribes who shared his passion for record keeping, to blood-thirsty berserkers who craved destruction. Clerics to the Scribe of the Dead prayed for their spells at dusk, during a ritual in which they author and burn a scroll listing the names of those they knew to have died that day - whether or not they had taken those lives themselves.
