Goliaths

Clerics of Kavaki - the head of the Goliath Pantheon - told that he found atop the The High Ice a bush that grew gems instead of fruit. He plucked the gems and from them came the first goliaths, whom he instructed to find hidden bounty amidst the mountains, and to protect the tribe from harm.

Their bodies looked as if they are carved from mountain stone, and gave them great physical power. Their hearts were infused with the cold regard of their frigid realm, leaving each goliath with the responsibility to earn a place in the herd or die trying.

Territory

Goliaths were native to the frigid mountain peaks of Fëaforn. Their spirits took after the wandering wind, making them nomads who wandered from peak to peak. Few folk can claim to have seen one, and fewer still can claim friendship with them.

Creation Myth and Goliath Pantheon

Main article: Goliath Pantheon

Goliaths were a relatively late emerging race in Auriin, with the first mentions of them in the histories of other races appearing only in the sixth era. However, by this time, the Goliaths already had a rich folklore tradition that documented the race's history, extending many generations into the past.

Goliaths believed that they were descended from a group of legendary figures whom they venerated as deities. The head of this pantheon was Kavaki, the creator.

Scholars of other cultures debated the veracity of Goliath folklore, with some positing that these mythic figures were Aspects presented by the true gods of Auriin to appeal to early goliaths, or that they were simply exceptional individuals who over time have garnered legendary status.
