Korvöd was a large town in the far north of Fëaforn, sitting at the foot of the High Ice. The town was built around a Mana Spring, a natural phenomenon thought to be tied to the intersection of the weird energy with the planes of existence; thus, the site was the subject of much academic focus.
Mage's College
The town's central quarter was dedicated to a large college, attended by students of the arcane. The college was almost a town in its own right - a cluster of laboratories, studies, homes, shops, bakeries, smithies, taverns - surrounded by walls patrolled by the college's private guards. The Manastone at the centre of Korvöd laid within these walls, where the Wizards, Artificers and other scholars of the college could study it in relative safety from the untamed wilds outside the town.
Outer Quarters
Outside of the college's walls were yet more homes, shops and meeting places, which served both to support the college, and to host those in the region with no business within its walls. While there was some resentment between the inhabitants of the college quarter and those of the outer quarters during certain periods of the town's history, relations were generally civil and understanding.
Inhabitants
Korvöd was mostly inhabited by Humans, Elves, Gnomes, and Dwarves; however, the town was also home to the largest static population of Dragonborn outside of Shuul during the seventh era.
