Teyapacán was the only permanent settlement of the Chcauzl people, and it was the home of their leaders, the Blood Seers.
The settlement began as a meeting place for the Chcauzl clans, where they would come together to trade, celebrate cultural festivals, and engage in political discussion. Over time, the settlement became increasingly fortified, with a number of clans taking up permanent residence at the site, building homes and building Teyapacán into a relatively large city.
The city became the primary location where people from elsewhere in Auriin would come in order to trade and otherwise communicate with the Chcauzl.
