The Order of the Great Guard were worshippers of The Vigilense, an aspect of Torum known as the watcher over the dark wilds.
The mission of the Order of the Great Guard was to venture out into the ever-encroaching darkness to ensure that the dark would be a comfort, not a terror. Clerics of the church, known as Watchers, took on guardian roles in local communities, and were often sent to the sites of could-be power struggles, to ensure the contested power would end up in the right hands. Paladins of the church were known as Guards, and they took on a similar role, albeit more heavily armoured and armed in their approach. The Guards were dispatched when evil threatened the innocent, and cloud only be stopped with great force.
The order's mother church was found in Wardenthrop, near Carricall, but they operated many churches and outposts all across Fëaforn, from Korvöd to Lunchát.
